American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) - their stated mission, "to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States.". Now how could anybody be against THAT?
Angry Alien- (FUNNY) is neither angry nor about aliens. It's a "Webby Award"-winning Flash cartoon series featuring films re-enacted by anthropomorphic animated bunnies in 30 seconds. Seriiously, just check 'em out.
Austin Bleeding Hearts - Another blog by the owner of this one
Austin Chronicle- a free, "alternative" weekly, tabloid-style newspaper published every Thursday in Austin, Texas, distributed through free news-stands, often at local eateries or coffee houses frequented by its targeted demographic. Very cool source of news.
BookPeople- a HUGE, beautiful independent bookstore in Austin, the largest bookstore in the state of Texas. It began in a little house and was called "Grok Books". THe name "BookPeople" came from Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451", in which the "Book People" is a group dedicated to preserving books in a world where the written word is forbidden and books are burned.

Old American Century Galleries - started shortly after Bush stole the 2000 election, when he appointed the leadership of the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) to the top levels of the Whitehouse, Department of Defense and State Department. The Project for the New American Century had basically taken control of the Executive Branch of our government. Hell, yeah, it's scary! And thoroughly un American And anti-democratic. The mother of the neoconservative movement, the PNAC had outlined a 100 year plan to use the United States' position as the last remaining superpower to impose an ideology of the extreme right on our domestic and foreign policy. In other words, the Project for the OLD American Century exists to fight the neo-fascist, neo-con movement.
